Hiroshima Sanfrecce is a soccer club in Hiroshima, Japan. It plays in J. League Division 1. The club’s name is a portmanteau. San is a Japanese number-three and frecce is an Italian word means arrows. It stems from a story called Mori Motonari who told his three sons that a single arrow is easily get snapped, but three arrows held together are hard to be broken and he encouraged his sons to work together for their family. The club plays averagely well in J. League Division 1 but it does well in the Emperor’s Cup which is a traditional league in Japan and it has won 3 champions in the league.
